Chinese company Elephant Robotics has unleashed a robotic canine companion called metaDog, powered by artificial intelligence. The company behind the invention, Elephant Robotics, describes metaDog as: “A lifelike and interactive robotic dog that’s always there to brighten your day,” according to its Kickstarter campaign. It was inspired as a solution for people who can’t have a real pet for reasons like housing restrictions, allergies or age.

On International Women’s Day (8 March), that is the bold call for action for all women and girls worldwide. IWD is celebrated to focus attention on women’s contributions to society and their right to equality, suffrage, reproductive rights, and freedom from violence and abuse. Originating from labor movements in Europe and North America around 1909, this day is not only a celebration of women’s achievements but also a crucial opportunity to promote diversity and inclusion in all fields.

Robotics are becoming both more accepted and advanced in a variety of areas, especially companionship for all ages. At CES in Las Vegas, Lisha Qiu, Head of International Marketing for Elephant Robotics, showed off some of their robotic pets. metaCat, metaDog, and metaPanda were all on display and the crowed was interacting with the just like real pets. Lisha explains how their deep learning AI training creates realistic head and tail movements, its use of USB charging vs. batteries, and their choice of pet models.

The metaCat, developed by Elephant Robotics, is not just a robotic pet. Unlike static dolls, this lifelike bionic companion is designed to provide users with a genuine sense of companionship. With its realistic movements, responsive behaviors, and emotional engagement, metaCat offers a unique solution for those who crave the comfort of a pet but face challenges in caring for a live animal.

In January, Elephant Robotics made a strong return to CES, unveiling an impressive lineup of robots along with the debut of its AI bionic robots, which captivated many audience and garnered extensive international media coverage from more than 50 outlets. We are committed to enhancing our robotic products, supporting emotional well-being, and addressing key societal needs, shaping a future where robots are integral to daily life. Join us in reflecting on our exciting performance at CES 2025!

Day 3 of CES 2025 is officially underway in Las Vegas. Elephant Robotics’ metaPanda AI is based on behaviors, movements, and expressions of real pandas, featuring hyper-realistic design. The entire body is covered in artificial wool, with a delicate and lifelike appearance. Equipped with an edge AI large model it understands human language semantics and emotional recognition, providing users with an “almost-living” interactive experience through simulated animal behavior and emotional expressions

Elephant Robotics introduces MetaCat and MetaDog, redefining companionship through advanced AI. These lifelike robotic pets feature realistic movements, touch sensors, and voice recognition, offering an emotional connection without the maintenance of real animals. Perfect for all ages, they provide the charm of real cats and dogs with cutting-edge technology.

The 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) will commence in Las Vegas, the U.S., on Tuesday morning (local time), with strong participation from Chinese companies. This year’s exhibition has over 3,600 exhibitors, including more than 1,300 from China. Shenzhen-based Elephant Robotics will show the Mercury X1, an advanced wheeled humanoid robot, and Shenzhen Zuowei Technology will present state-of-the-art intelligent care robots. Wisson Robotics will introduce their groundbreaking Pliabot technology, which combines flexible materials and neural network intelligence to create adaptable and safe robots with human-like flexibility.

Elephant Robotics arrived at CES from Shenzen, China, with a slightly more, shall we say, clunky message: “Enjoy Robots World”. Like RoboSense, it displayed a wide range of robotic products, from educational collaborative robots to bionic companion robotic pets. It’s real value lies in the versatility of its products, intended for “creative projects, daily tasks, and production applications”. A variety of end “effectors” – including cameras, suction pumps, grippers, and dexterous hands – enhances the practicality of robotic arms and increases efficiency.
